The rules out with the Onaqui wild horses state that you MUST stay at least 100 feet away from them for your own safety. Which sometimes may not be far enough. I encourage anyone who goes out to comply. I'm worried that someone who doesn't understand horses and their behavior will get hurt. Things can go from a calm setting to an absolute chaotic situation in a blink of an eye. But, I have found the horses don't comply to the rule’s. In this image I am comfortably a 100 feet away enjoying myself snapping a few images here and there, when this melee broke out and charged at me. Luckily they ducked off before they got to close. I am probably around 50 feet away here at 200mm then I cropped the image a little to get the feeling of action up close and personal. Good times!
