The dictionary defines Stoic as "determined not to complain or show your feelings, especially when something bad happens to you."
I don't speak horse, so I can't speak for them. But based on my observations, which I have made while watching horses for most of my life, they exemplify Stoicism. And I guess it's not that I don't think they show emotion because they do. But why I think stoicism describes them is because they accept things for what they are.
They can survive and thrive in some of the most extreme conditions on earth. They fight each other ferociously and accept the results for what they are. Humans are constantly trying to manipulate each other. Horses socialize, create family bands, breed, and live their best lives.
